Neurodivergent Counselling

A space where you can be yourself

I welcome neurodivergent individuals at every stage of their journey. Whether you have recently been diagnosed, are waiting for an assessment, or self-identify as autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent, you are welcome here.

As an autistic counsellor, I bring both lived experience and professional understanding to my work. I know that living in a world that is not always designed with neurodivergent people in mind can be exhausting, overwhelming, and isolating. My aim is to offer a space where you feel understood, accepted, and free to be yourself.

Exploring your neurodivergence

Discovering you may be neurodivergent can bring relief, curiosity, grief, or uncertainty. You may be reflecting on years of masking, feeling different, or wondering why everyday life has felt harder than it seems for others.

Therapy can provide a safe space to explore your identity, make sense of your experiences, and develop greater self-understanding and self-compassion.

Common experiences

Many neurodivergent people experience:

  • Overwhelm and sensory overload

  • Burnout and chronic exhaustion

  • Anxiety and emotional dysregulation

  • Masking and people-pleasing

  • Feeling misunderstood or "different"

  • Low self-esteem and self-doubt

These are often natural responses to navigating environments that do not fully support neurodivergent needs.

How I work

My approach is neurodivergent affirming. I don't believe you need to be fixed or changed. Instead, I work alongside you to understand your unique strengths, challenges, and needs.

I welcome difference and understand that everyone communicates and experiences the world differently. You might need to stim, fidget, move around, take pauses, avoid eye contact, or simply take your time to find the right words. There is no expectation to behave in a particular way or to mask who you are. This is your space, and you are welcome exactly as you are.

You deserve to feel understood

Whether you are exploring your neurodivergence for the first time or have known for years, you deserve a therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe, accepted, and genuinely understood.

While some people come to therapy to explore their neurodivergence or process a diagnosis, you do not have to talk about being neurodivergent if that is not what feels most important. You may be struggling with anxiety, relationships, work, family life, burnout, grief, low self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life.

Whatever brings you to therapy, we can explore it together in a way that honours your individual needs and experiences, helping you to build self-understanding, resilience, and a life that feels more authentic to you.
