LGBTQIA+ Community

You Don't Have to Explain Yourself Here

If you're transgender, non-binary, questioning your gender identity, or part of the LGBTQIA+ community, finding the right therapist can feel like another hurdle.

You might wonder whether you'll be understood. Whether you'll have to explain your identity before you can even begin talking about what's really going on for you.

You don't have to do that here.

Working with transgender and gender-diverse clients is one of the parts of my practice I care about most deeply. Through my professional experience working alongside transgender individuals, and my personal experience of supporting a close family member, I've seen both the courage it takes to live authentically and the emotional toll of living in a world that doesn't always feel safe or accepting.

My aim is to offer something different, a space where you can simply arrive as yourself.

Because Sometimes It's Not Just About Gender

For some people, therapy is about exploring gender identity or living with gender dysphoria. For others, it's about navigating transition, coming out, relationships or family dynamics.

And sometimes, gender isn't the reason you've come to therapy at all.

Like anyone else, you may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in mood, exhausted or struggling with your sense of self. You may simply want a space where you don't have to carry everything on your own.

Whatever brings you here, we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

When the World Feels Heavy

For many transgender people, the challenges don't stop when they leave home.

The constant public debate around transgender lives, changes to healthcare and government policy, uncertainty about rights, or worrying about everyday things like using public toilets can create a level of stress that many people never have to think about. Over time, that can leave you feeling anxious, hyper-alert, exhausted or alone.

Therapy can't change those realities, but it can offer something just as important- a place where you don't have to defend yourself, explain your identity or brace for judgement.

How I Work

I won't tell you who you are or what your journey should look like.

Instead, I'll offer a warm, accepting and collaborative space where we can explore whatever is important to you. Whether you're questioning your gender identity, living with gender dysphoria, navigating transition or looking for an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity and respect.
